From the Press Box
#1 North Michigan Wolves (3-0) vs #3 Lansing Lightning (2-0)
This game is one of two games with undefeated teams, will this be the week that the Wolves are beat? Will the Lightning get the win in this rematch from last year’s championship game? They have the rest as the week 3 game was rescheduled will that hurt them or will that be to their advantage. The Wolves are coming off a big scoring game where they scored 64 points, would have thought it was a game of Madden being played, will they be able to score that again versus the Lightning? This will for sure be one of the games that UFL league, teams and fans will be wanting to see the outcome.
#9 Calvary Knights (1-2) vs #8 West Michigan Chaos (1-2)
The Knights are for sure looking to bounce back this week against West Michigan after last week’s game for sure as they take on the Chaos who were victorious over the Gladiators last week, I would guess that this game might be a little harder for them as both teams will be trying to get to .500 for the season.
#12 Holland Gladiators (0-3) vs #7 Grand Rapids Surge (1-1)
Grand Rapids had their week 3 game rescheduled and are itching to get back to it versus the Gladiators who are just looking to get a win. I don’t know if Holland can stay with the Surge and be able to produce enough offense to beat them, but maybe they will pull out something we have yet to see from them this year.
#2 Motor City Outlaws (2-0) vs #4 Indy Firehawk’s (3-0)
This is the 2nd game featuring undefeated teams, the Outlaws are on a 2-game win streak and host the Firehawk’s at home, the Firehawk’s are 3-0 and have taken all of those games to the wire, but they can’t do that versus the Outlaws, or they will be trying to play catch up and after last week emotions might be running high will those stay in check and can they leave it on the field, will this be the week the Firehawk’s are grounded or the week the Outlaws are handed a loss? This could shake up the power rankings and the standings in the conference as well.
#6 Findlay Knights (1-2) vs #11 Indianapolis Shockers (0-2)
The Shockers look to get in the win column this week as they travel to Ohio to take on the Knights, the Shockers played decent against the Firehawk’s for the first half and then they could not get back in the grove and let the Firehawk’s get out in front of them, they for sure struggled against a tough Outlaws team last week, but they seem to be hungry and could find that first win this week. The Knights win came against the Titans in week 2 and losing to Fort Wayne last week they are not wanting to take back-to-back losses, this could be another close game down to the wire.
#5 Fort Wayne Wolverines (1-1) vs #10 Kalamazoo Titans (0-2)
The Wolverines have got off to a slow start, losing to the Firehawk’s in week 1, but getting the win against the Findlay Knights in another defensive battle take on the Titans at 0-2 which could be a fluke that they are 0-2, both losses were close games vs Findlay 14-6 and Firehawk’s 20-18, one play and those scores would have been the other way in their favor so maybe they are just playing possum…
Lots of key matchups this week in the UFL that could move some teams up and down in the rankings and standings and potential to have some big upsets so it will be some good games to watch and see what is happening. Good luck to all the teams.
