Another league with teams in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky the BCFL kicks off its 2023 season this Saturday May 20th and there are a lot of great matchups and teams that need to get out to a quick start and not go 0-1 in the first week. Let’s get into the matchups.
Columbus Gladiators (0-0) vs Dayton Seminoles (0-0)
Columbus Gladiators will host the newest team Dayton Seminoles at home the Gladiators coming off a great 2022 season, they will take on a hungry Seminole team who are looking to make a statement out of the gate in week 1.
Cincinnati Dukes (0-0) vs Lexington Bengals (0-0)
The Duke’s look to get back to the championship in 2023 after losing to first ever back-to-back BCFL champions Cin City Bucs now in the PFA. The Lexington Bengals are the first roadblock of the year look for this to be a good game, Bengals another young team, looking to get a hot streak for 2023 and up to the 22 BCFL Eastern Conference Champs.
Columbus Breeden Knights (0-0) ) vs Northern Ky Wolf Pack (0-0)
Northern Kentucky Wolfpack, and both teams are looking to jump out with a win in week 1.
Southern Indiana Bobcats (0-0) vs Indiana Tornadoes (0-0)
A lot of people think the Tornados have fallen off the map of Indiana minor league football, in the off season they merged with the Jags and a lost a few players to other teams, and they had a slow start last year but finished strong, nevertheless they take on the new and hungry Southern Indiana Bobcats who are looking to shake things up verses the Tornados.
The Bobcats are coming off a loss to the Indy Bison in the pre-season and the Nados lost a close game as well in preseason, but the Bobcats are looking to make a statement in week 1 and upsetting the Tornados would definitely make one. The Bobcats are emerging as one of the top tier teams in state and in the southern part of the state especially picking up were the long running Indiana Cutters left off last season, making the one of the top tier teams in Indiana to be on w coaching, staff and players.
Look for the Bobcats to come out of the gate early, if they don’t it will be a long game, the Tornados will have a plan and will look to do the same both teams need a week 1 win to show they are contenders.
Indy Bison (Red) (0-0) vs Kentucky Spartans (0-0)
To say that the Spartans will have their hands full against the Bison red is an understatement, Red is looking to come out and be a contender and get that ring and that starts in week 1, if they can get a win early in week 1 that will only give them the momentum, they need to be one of the top teams in the BCFL.
The Spartans can play spoiler and give the Bison a week 1 loss, will they be able to, that is the question? We shall see.
Kentuckiana Calvary goes into the season with a bye week for weeks 1 & 2
