MCFL week 2 Preview
3 min read#1 Bird Gang (1-0) vs #7 Thunderhawk’s (0-1)
The Bird Gang look to keep the league on notice again this week vs the Thunderhawk’s, they shut down the Lion’s last week 46-6, and I am not a betting man but if I was, I would say that the same thing will happen this week. Thunderhawk’s seem to be struggling and have yet to find their grove, losing in week 1 to the Hurricanes 36-6. This week won’t get any easier for them as they travel to Chicago to play the Bird Gang.
#2 Indy Bison (1-0) vs #11 Indy Assassins (0-0)
The Bison are on role to start the season coming out of week 1 with a huge victory over Ft Wayne 43-14 moving up the rankings (my rankings, they are not league official, so calm down) look to do the same to the Assassins who had a bye in week 1. Will the Assassins answer the call and make it a game?? Or will the Bison run them out of town after this weekend, or will the Assassin’s stand up and make it a game, we will see when the dust settles on Saturday how it turns out.
#3 Michigan Hurricanes (1-0) vs #8 LC Warriors (0-0) Press Box Report Game of the Week
The Hurricanes didn’t really have a tough challenge in week 1, and the Warriors should of beat the Bucs and they were on the way to a victory leading 22-12 when the issues came up and game had to be rescheduled at a later date.
Warriors look to actually play a full game this week and they will be a task for the Canes, and this game will determine if they are for real or was the week 1 win a fluke? We shall see.
#4 River City Sharks (1-0) Bye
River City Sharks will take the week off and they are coming off a close 6-0 victory over the St Louis Falcons.
#5 St Louis Falcons (0-1) vs #6 Fort Wayne Tigers (0-1)
St Louis will make the long trip to take on the Fort Wayne Tigers at their home field. After losing a very close game vs the Sharks 6-0 in week 1 look to get into the win column in week 2. Tigers coming off a disappointing loss to the Indy Bison 43-14 are looking to make a statement in front of the hometown fans, look for them to come out with all cylinders firing this week and bounce back into the win column going into their bye week.
#8 Leyden Lions (0-1) vs # 10 Bucs (0-0)
After an epic loss to the Bird Gang in week 1 the Lions are looking to redeem themselves and standing in the way are the Bucs who look to start the season off with a win.
So, week 2 is shaping up to be a great weekend for games, and we will see who pulls away from the pack and who will gain some ground. Bison & Bird Gang could go 2-0 early on and could that be a preview of the Championship? The Tigers, Thunderhawk’s, Lions and Falcons are against the wall and really must win this week to stay in contention. Who will be left standing when the buzzer goes off?
