What is going on we are close to the end of the 2023 MCFL season and with only a few games left, we will start looking ahead to the playoffs. Season started with 10 teams we are down to 7 so it will be a quick playoff run for the league, as of now the championship game will be on August 26th.
Let’s take a look at this week’s matchups!
#1 Bird Gang (5-0-1) vs #6 Sharks (3-3)
The Bird Gang have pretty much locked up 1st round bye as the #1 seed in the north, as well as home field advantage for the playoff’s so this week will pretty much be a practice game for them while the Sharks have the highest intentions of beating the BG, I don’t see it happening this week. The Sharks are sitting at 3-3 before this game and are neck and neck with the Falcons for the #2 seed which really dont make much of a difference at this point they have that over the Falcons since they did beat them in week 1, regardless they will face them in the first round of the playoff’s.
#2 Lake County Warriors (Bye)
LCW will get a bye this week and get ready to travel to Indy next week for another big match up versus the Bison.
#3 Indy Bison (5-1) vs #6 Leyden Lions (3-4)
In another cross-conference matchup, the Bison will travel to the Lions to play this week, the Bison have also pretty much clinched the #1 seed in the south as well as home field advantage which will pretty much take them to the conference championship game and will either face Falcons or the Sharks. The Lions are at risk of securing a lower seed than the Bucs which sound’s crazy, but they won’t have an easy rest of the season as they will have the Bird Gang and the Hurricanes.
#4 Hurricanes (28-0) Forefit win
The Hurricanes are on a 2-game winning streak, as they will get the forfeit win 28-0 in a game that was supposed to be played versus the Assassin’s.
#8 Falcons (28-0) Forefit Win
Falcons are yet another victim of a forfeit win versus the folded Thunderhawk’s.
#9 Bucs (28-0) Forefit Win
Yet another forefit win for the Bucs gives them the 3rd win of the season.
That sums up this week’s preview of the games.
